ELDERLY SERVICES
HMAAC is the only agency in the Denver metro area that enable Hmong and Laotian elders to access essential health and social services. Because of the uniqueness of the senior populations we serve, our clients depend upon the language proficient and culturally appropriate assistance we provide. Our clientele are all refugees or former refugees, who speak little or no English and have very limited resources (about 75% are on Medicaid).Through our Elderly Services Program, we provide case management, translation, interpretation, transportation, advocacy and referral services that enable these elders to access needed health care, social and other services. In addition, we enhance our elders' mental health and improve the quality of their lives through activities promoting social interaction, cultural preservation and assimilation.
